The Kinsa Smart Thermometer

The Kinsa Smart Thermometer,

A Mommy Must-Have

New York, NY. April 2013: Imagine if you were able to evaluate what symptoms and illnesses were going around your child’s school, local park, favorite hot spot and neighborhood, similar to a weather map, and before any school nurse or pediatrician could share what they’re seeing. Very soon moms everywhere will be able to do just that.

The Kinsa Smart Thermometer, a smartphone-connected device designed specifically with moms in mind, will do much more than just take your child’s temperature.

The Kinsa Smart Thermometer is precise, inexpensive and easy to use. Plus it comes with a free mobile app that lets you stay connected to current health concerns in your area – in real-time.

Here is how it works:

The thin, flexible, and comfortable thermometer simply connects to any smart-phone, no batteries required.
An accurate temperature reading is revealed in seconds.
With a few taps, you can associate symptoms, save history and share them with private groups (like your your kids’ daycare class). It even allows you to schedule the next urgent care appointment at a facility close to home, or send photos to your doctor for an immediate response.
Parents also have the ability to create a private community and view the symptoms and illnesses going around that particular group.
The app features an illness forecast to help you understand how to plan around your child’s illness – when they will be contagious and when they will be better.
Ultimately, Kinsa has created the world’s first real-time health map, enabling society to track and stop the spread of illness.
The Kinsa Smart Thermometer will be available later this year. More about Kinsa’s work and the Kinsa Smart Thermometer can be found here: 3.5 minute video

Inder Singh, Kinsa’s founder and CEO, explains, “I am incredibly excited about what we are doing at Kinsa. By using mobile devices intelligently, we are creating simpler, smarter, connected devices that will be available at or below the current cost of these products and simultaneously provide far more value. The data that one person provides could be the key in detecting the spread of flu or any number of other worse contagious illnesses, and lead to interventions that save lives.”

Support for Kinsa:

Kinsa recently launched an Indiegogo crowdfundraising campaign to gain public support. A mission-driven start-up enterprise backed by entrepreneurs and experts in technology and health, Kinsa was featured at DEMO Mobile 2013, where it won the award for the best health product, and at TEDMED as part of The Hive, a program profiling 50 innovative startups in health.
